Kyla Frye, Executive Director, Leaving the WT Enterprise Center Following Almost A Decade of Dedicated Service

Kyla Frye, Executive Director of the WT Enterprise Center, has dedicated the better part of a decade to the WT Enterprise Center, its staff and clients, and the economic growth of the Texas panhandle. Please join us on Tuesday, December 7 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for a reception honoring Kyla and her achievements, as well as wishing her well in her new adventure!

Having impacted so many people and businesses, Kyla shared a farewell message to all those who impacted her over the years:

Leaving an organization that has been an integral part of your life for the better part of a decade is never easy. It’s bittersweet to announce that I will be leaving the WT Enterprise Center. However, I could never leave without saying thank you to the people that have impacted my life during my time here.

As a fresh graduate from West Texas A&M University, I had no idea what my future would turn into as I started my first full-time job at the WT Enterprise Center in 2012. Through mentorship, leadership, grace, and opportunities, I developed a career in an industry I had no idea I would come to love. I’ve spent the last decade developing a passion for helping entrepreneurs succeed in building the businesses of their dreams. I had the opportunity to fulfill that passion working alongside some pretty incredible team members that turned into lifelong friendships. I would like to say thank you to Dr. Neil Terry, David Terry, and Jeff Reid. You encouraged me to dream bigger, trusted me to contribute value, and provided endless opportunities, including the honor of leading the WT Enterprise Center for the last four years. It’s been an incredible journey and I’m eternally grateful. I also want to say thank you to Brittny Lee and Debbie Holmes-Bowling. We worked together for most of my time at the WT Enterprise Center and I would not be where I am today without you; the WT Enterprise Center also would not be what it is today without you! We had so many good times, lessons learned, challenges we overcame, and accomplishments we shared together. You two impacted my life more than you know and I can’t say thank you enough!

During my tenure, I also had the opportunity to work with incredible entrepreneurs who taught me many life lessons including resiliency, vision, creative problem-solving, and what it truly means to chase your dreams. To all the entrepreneurs I have coached, mentored, or were a part of my time here at the Enterprise Center, thank you! I appreciate you trusting me to coach you, support you, and guide you on your path. It’s been an absolute joy!

There are too many advisory board members, mentors, partners, vendors, and supporters to name that were a part of my journey and helped guide me that I would also like to thank. But I would be remiss not to personally thank Coco Duckworth! From the very beginning, she took me under her wing and mentored me through the good times and the challenging times. She encouraged me, believed in me, taught me lessons, inspired me, and so much more. There are not enough words in the world to describe Coco and the unbelievable gift she has to lift others up. Coco, you are a gem and I appreciate every moment you have spent helping me develop personally and professionally.

Last, but certainly not least, to my team – you are a great group of individuals who will continue to exceed expectations and provide value. You all have servant hearts and I have enjoyed working with each of you. I know you will continue to do great things while Helping People Build Great Companies.
