CONTINUING THE LEGACY OF LEADERSHIP: STATEMENT FROM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, KYLA FRYE

Continuing the Legacy of Leadership: Statement from Executive Director, Kyla Frye

The WT Enterprise Center has a legacy of visionary leaders who have positioned this organization to succeed in Helping People Build Great Companies for eighteen years. It is truly an honor to serve in the Executive Director role and have the opportunity to continue the legacy of inspiring innovation throughout the Texas Panhandle and beyond.

As an Amarillo native, nothing gives me greater joy than championing entrepreneurship and being an ecosystem builder in my hometown. I have had the distinct pleasure of working with many entrepreneurs from across the Panhandle during my tenure and these dreamers, doers and risk-takers fuel my passion every day. Entrepreneurship is not a smooth path, there are many bumps and detours throughout the journey. That’s what makes the WT Enterprise Center and the people who contribute to the community here a valuable resource to many business owners. From startups to existing businesses, prototyping to succession planning, the WT Enterprise Center plays an important role in meeting the needs of entrepreneurs and contributing to the ecosystem.

Our vision for the WT Enterprise Center is to be the lead entrepreneur support organization in the Texas Panhandle. To accomplish that vision, we are focused on several key initiatives including:
  • Offering more technology and commercialization services
  • Developing new opportunities to connect entrepreneurs to capital
  • Providing quality resources for entrepreneur development
  • Connecting community to innovation
  • Supporting advancement of young entrepreneurs
  • Continuing to be a catalyst for economic development in the region

While there are so many things we do well, we know none of this can be accomplished on our own. Continuing to nurture and develop relationships with partners regionally, nationally and internationally is a top priority.

We’ve set the vision and expectations high for the WT Enterprise Center and we are confident in seeing them to fruition because of the quality team we have assembled. The leadership team of the Enterprise Center also includes David Terry, co-founder and entrepreneur, returning in a full-time position, as our Client Services Director and Brittny Lee, marketing and program expert, as Marketing Director. Our dedicated and experienced staff also includes Debbie Holmes as Administrative Services Manager and Megan Stutz as Community Manager.

We’ve come a long way from our founding in 2001 and I’ve enjoyed being a part of the journey. Now, I’m prepared and excited for the opportunity to direct this organization into the future. We have established a great community of staff members, coaches, advisory board members, mentors, partners and supporters to help us carry out our mission of Helping People Build Great Companies.

Thank you for your continued support of the WT Enterprise Center,

Kyla Frye, MBA
Executive Director
