The WTAMU Enterprise Center honors five 2012 incubation graduate companies and presents the first annual “Client of the Year” award Wednesday, December 12th at noon.

Amarillo, TX- December 5, 2012

Media and community members are invited to support incubation and economic development through small business at the WTAMU Enterprise Center annual December Lunch & Learn and Graduation. Five companies will receive incubation graduation honors from the WTAMU Enterprise Center in 2012 including:

Leadership Amarillo & Canyon– Joined the EC in June 2008
Since 1981, Leadership has educated and developed area leaders on the challenges facing our community. LAC offers a ten-month leadership development program designed to introduce leadership tools that will make better employees, leading to a better workplace, better families and ultimately a better community.

Norris Audio Video– Joined December 2011
Norris Audio Video, LLC created in 1996 designs, sells, installs, and services quality audio, video, stage lighting, digital signage, security, emergency mass notification and home theater systems.

Perdue Acoustics– Joined July 2008
Perdue Acoustics founded in 1989 has specialized in controlling sound and eliminating echoes and loud uncontrolled noises in churches, schools, athletic facilities and other commercial buildings all over the world for over twenty years.

Skilled Trades– Joined December 2009
Skilled Trades started with a small group of industry veterans who shared a vision to provide the core services of a skilled labor provider with a higher level of service to both their clients and their staff. They serve industries including: disaster recovery, industrial manufacturing, alternative energy, commercial, institutional, terminals & transmissions, petroleum refining, metals & minerals and food & beverage.

Stoney Hollow– Joined March 2009
Stoney Hollow Design studio has evolved to a full scale design firm, specifically focused on innovative, personal and creative designs for entrepreneurial, growth-oriented companies and organizations.

“These companies have graduated from the incubation process, proving their sustainability and opportunity for growth. In the last year, these graduate companies have combined revenues of over $21.3 million and have supported over 47 local jobs. The overall economic impact that small business has on our local economy is substantial and incubation programs are a large part of growing small business in Amarillo,” says Executive Director David Terry.

The WTAMU Enterprise Center client and graduate companies report a total annual 2012 economic contribution of over $118.3 million in revenues, employment of more than 413 full time employees and payroll in excess of $20 million.

The WTAMU Enterprise Center is a business incubator and accelerator located in Amarillo, Potter County, Texas. The Enterprise Center is a catalyst for innovation, a hub for business resources to develop entrepreneurs and a collaborative partner with other business, non-profit organizations, government entities, and education in the overall economic development of the Texas Panhandle region.

Event Details:
2012 Graduate companies will receive graduate awards at Lunch & Learn on December 12th from noon to 1 p.m at the WTAMU Enterprise Center, located at 2300 N. Western. In addition to graduate awards, the WTAMU Enterprise Center will also present the first annual “Client of the Year” award, acknowledging the success and results of engagement in the incubation process. This award will honor the client who has gone the extra mile to implement successful business practices, fully participate in the incubation process and realize increased profitability and business growth.

Featured speaker for the December Lunch & Learn is Mayor Paul Harpole, President of Paul Harpole Motors, LLC. This festive end of year Lunch & Learn- awards ceremony will include Prime Rib from Panhandle Restaurant Group and door prizes. Online reservation is required at www.IncubationWorks.com. $10 pp.

We have also partnered with Chick-fil-a on Georgia Street to help with donations for Toys for Tots. Each person who brings a toy to Lunch & Learn will receive a coupon for a free Chick-fil-a sandwich!
