American Site Builders Named Finalist for International Award

ATHENS, Ohio – American Site Builders, a graduate of the West Texas Enterprise Center in Amarillo, Texas, has been named a finalist for the National Business Incubation Association’s 2014 Outstanding Incubator Graduate award in the nontechnology category. The winner of the prestigious award will be announced May 20 at NBIA’s 28th International Conference on Business Incubation in New Orleans.

American Site Builders provides civil concrete construction services to the energy and utility industries. At that time, the company specialized in deep-drilled pier foundation construction and pad foundations for substation electrical equipment, transmission lines, wind turbine towers, and power plant facilities.

Established in 2007, American Site Builders entered the West Texas Enterprise Center in 2010. Under the guidance of an enterprise coach provided by the incubator, American Site Builders built a comprehensive business plan and refined its aptitude for thinking critically about the business. When the process was complete, American Site Builders had a comprehensive, three-year plan complete with a guide for operating its business, and a strong foundation built around streamlined processes and procedures. This served as a launching point for the company; American Site Builders doubled its three-year projection in the first year.

Business incubation programs like the West Texas Enterprise Center catalyze the process of starting and growing companies by providing entrepreneurs with the expertise, networks and tools they need to make their ventures successful. NBIA estimates that in 2011 alone, North American incubators assisted about 49,000 start-up companies that provided full-time employment for nearly 200,000 workers and generated annual revenue of almost $15 billion. Approximately 7,000 business incubators operate worldwide.

The National Business Incubation Association is the world’s leading organization advancing business incubation and entrepreneurship. Each year, the NBIA Incubation Awards honor the business incubation programs, graduates and client companies that exemplify the best of the industry.
