In the long run, men hit only what they aim at. Therefore, they had better aim at something high.”

– Henry David Thoreau

In evaluating the success of entrepreneurs in a small “master-mind” group that I belong to, I came to the following conclusion… The people who are the most successful in life are not really the most capable. They are the ones that aim the highest, behave as if they have hit those targets, and then simply live into that reality.

The law of attraction, which has gained a lot of notoriety in the last few years, is nothing more than finding ways to look for the right things so that they are more visible. The Reticular Activating System is the portion of the brain that helps you identify what it is you wish to see. If you were to look around the room you are in right now and simply look for what stands out, you would see a few interesting things. If I were to tell you to close your eyes and think of the color red for five seconds, and nothing else, then I asked you to open your eyes and look around that same room, you would see more objects that were red. If fact, they would stand out to you. The law of attraction then, is a way in which we can tap into the R.A.S. We are able to create a success focus by simply thinking about it regularly.

If you have ever used a rifle with a scope, you know that you only hit the things that you aim at. Using your success scope, you are able to target what you want in your life. The key to the R.A.S. is that it works in any direction that you aim it. If you put your focus on the bad things in life, then you are sure to get more of them. If you set your sights high on success, then you are sure to get that as well. There are no guarantees that challenges will not come our way. There is only our definite and chief aim in life.

So, aim high, spend time thinking about those lofty goals as if they are already achieved, and live into your chief aim in life!

To Your Success!
